Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about adoption, fostering, and fees.
What is the adoption fee?
Our standard adoption fee is $200. This fee covers all essential medical care including vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, microchipping, deworming, FIV/FeLV testing, and initial veterinarian health checks.
How long does the adoption application process take?
The process typically takes 24 to 48 hours. Our application coordinators review all references, check vet history for current/past pets, and verify landlord rules and pet policies if you are renting.
How are my financial donations used?
100% of all public donations go directly toward veterinary care, life-saving surgeries, medications, microchips, high-quality food, formula, and litter. Since we are a 100% volunteer-driven rescue, we have no paid administrative staff—meaning every single dollar goes straight to saving felines.
What are the requirements for fostering a cat?
Fosters must provide a safe, clean, and indoor-only space, and spend time socializing and caring for the cat or kittens. NoCo Kitties provides and pays for everything else: all vet bills, medications, food, litter, food/water dishes, cages, and toys! Fostering can last from a few days (for transports) to a few weeks or months.
How can I get started as a volunteer?
Simply download our Volunteer Application and Waiver from the Volunteer page, fill them out, and email them to 1nocokitties@gmail.com. We hold regular orientations for transporters, socializers, event helpers, and admin staff.
Is NoCo Kitties a tax-exempt organization?
Yes, NoCo Kitties is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All charitable financial donations and in-kind supplies contributions are fully tax-deductible. We are happy to provide donation receipts for your tax filings upon request.
